Mr. Frazier is the founder and managing partner of Frazier Healthcare Ventures. Mr. Frazier assists with evaluating biopharmaceutical and growth equity investments. On behalf of Frazier Healthcare, he has been integrally involved in growing several successful early-stage life science companies into national prominence ̶ such as Immunex, Affymax and Affymetrix; has secured premiere deal flow through early-stage investments ̶ such as Tularik and CV Therapeutic; and has developed successful growth equity companies such as Trident USA Health Services.
Currently Mr. Frazier serves on the boards of Alexza Pharmaceuticals (NASDQ: ALXA), Ascension Orthopedics, Cadence Pharmaceuticals (NASDQ: CADX), Portola Pharmaceuticals, and Trident USA Health Services.
Prior to forming Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Mr. Frazier was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Immunex Corporation. Later, he served as the senior financial advisor and chief financial officer of Affymax and worked on the spinout of Affymetrix. Prior to Immunex, Mr. Frazier was head of the Emerging Business Practice and co-head of the Technology Practice for the Seattle office of Arthur Young Company (now, Ernst & Young). Mr. Frazier holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Washington.
Mr. Frazier serves on the UW Medicine Board and UW Medicine Strategic Initiatives Committee, both affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine. Additionally, he serves on the Boards of the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association, the Western Washington University Foundation, and Amara Parenting, an adoption and foster care organization, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the J. David Gladstone Institute, which is associated with the University of California San Francisco.
